All About the Far North Queensland (FNQ) DAMA

- They are operating within the FNQ DAMA Designated Area. Local Government Areas which it includes are Cairns Regional Council, Douglas Shire Council, Mareeba Shire Council, Tablelands Regional Council, Cassowary Coast Regional Council, Cook Shire Council, Croydon Shire Council, Etheridge Shire Council, Torres Shire Council, Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council, and the Weipa Town Authority area.
- They are workable and have been operating for at least 12 months (unless there are some exceptional circumstances).
- They don’t have any history of meeting obligations to employees.
- They are looking to hire/employ overseas workers to fill full-time positions with duties that are in accordance with one or more of the occupations on the occupation list of FNQ DAMA.
- They can demonstrate their inability to locally fill the position with Australian citizens or permanent residents.
- They can provide the terms and conditions of employment to overseas workers. They must be as per the ones that are provided to Australian workers employed in this region
