DAMA for South Australia- An Overview

The East Kimberley DAMA is a strategic partnership between the East Kimberley Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EKCCI) and the Federal Government of Australia. Designed to support the labour demands of regional Western Australia, this Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) allows employers in the East Kimberley region to sponsor skilled and semi-skilled overseas workers to fill job vacancies that cannot be filled locally. For anyone wondering, “What is Kimberley DAMA?”; well, it’s a specialized migration pathway tailored to meet regional workforce shortages with enhanced flexibility.

The Kimberley DAMA is unique. This is because it offers generous concessions that go beyond what standard skilled migration visas provide. These concessions include relaxed requirements related to English language proficiency, age limits, work experience, and salary thresholds. These features make the East Kimberley DAMA an ideal solution for businesses struggling to find suitable workers through the domestic labour market.

Employers operating under this agreement can secure a five-year labour arrangement. This enables them to gain pre-approval for occupations and nominate both new overseas candidates and current staff and that too without the immediate need to identify a specific worker in advance. Such flexibility is particularly valuable in remote regions where talent shortages can change quickly and vary by industry.

Additionally, one of the core strengths of the East Kimberley DAMA is its adaptability. As business demands shift, the agreement allows employers to request the inclusion of new occupations or additional concessions, ensuring it evolves alongside regional economic needs.

What are the Occupations Available in East Kimberley DAMA?

The occupation list for the East Kimberley DAMA features a variety of roles across key sectors such as agriculture, tourism, construction, aged care, hospitality, and transport. The full occupation list is regularly updated to reflect the current labour market and is tailored specifically to meet the unique demands of the Kimberley region.

Prime Areas Covered Under the East Kimberley DAMA

The East Kimberley DAMA encompasses several local government areas, including:

Shire of Wyndham-East Kimberley
Shire of Broome
Shire of Halls Creek
Shire of Derby-West Kimberley

These regions benefit from access to skilled talent pools that contribute directly to regional development and sustainability.

Note: The Kimberley DAMA is available to all employers in the listed regions. You do not need to be a member of EKCCI to access the benefits of this program.

Whether you’re an employer seeking reliable staffing solutions or a skilled worker looking to explore migration opportunities in remote Western Australia, the East Kimberley DAMA offers a valuable pathway toward success.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Really happy with my experience with the migration agent. From the beginning, Neet took the time to understand and properly analyse my situation and explain what we needed to do.

Neet was very knowledgeable and always knew what the next step was, which gave me a lot of peace of mind throughout the process. Also, a big thank you to Manvi, who kept checking in about the documents and making sure everything was ready when needed.

The whole visa process can be pretty stressful, but having someone who knows what they’re doing and keeps you updated makes a big difference.

Really appreciate all the help and support from both of them. And most importantly — we got the visa! 🙌

Would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs help with their visa.
